The Gas Company Tower is the the 5th tallest building in Los Angeles and was completed in the early 90's as part of the Library Square Redevelopment Project. It is also listed in the top 100 tallest buildings in the world. It has won a number of awards for Architecture among other things. It's also famous for the use of the elevator shafts and the roof in the beginning of the film 'Speed'. The other unusual aspect of the building is that the top of the building is shaped like the bow of a ship.
